Club members in the spotlight – Myra

This month we had a nice chat with MioLi club member Myra Wilby and asked her some questions about her life. Here’s what Myra had to say. Why did you join the MioLi club? Kim (Carter) had told me about the exercises and the club activities and I thought that being connected to a different group would help to replace the things I would be missing in these strange isolated times.WI, U3A, Pilates, aerotone, art classes. Have you got any hobbies? My hobbies are, in no particular order..knitting, painting, drawing, reading, gardening, exercising, holidays. I’m not great at sitting still for too long. What’s the most exciting thing you’ve ever done? Without a doubt, looping the loop on a birthday gliding flight and trekking in Nepal in the Anna Purna mountains. What’s your guilty pleasure? Guilty pleasures… 2 squares of plain chocolate in the evening and G and T at the weekends. What advice would you give to your younger self? Fairly complacent, but I should have tried more adventurous activities when younger. What one piece of advice would you give to your grandchildren? My 3 grandsons are young men and starting families of their own in a changing and more electronic world. Their parents spent so much time reading and talking with them that I would ask the grandsons to spend the same amount of quality time with their own little ones.
